Bradley Beal listed as top trade target for the Dallas Mavericks this offseason

The Dallas Mavericks already have a star-studded duo in Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis. While the duo is talented enough to make the Mavs a contender, they could look to make a major move this offseason. That move could come in the form of a trade for Bradley Beal.

Granted, in order to trade for Beal, the Washington Wizards would have to be willing to move him. They have listened to offers, but have not jumped on any of them yet. Perhaps the Mavericks could make an offer enticing enough to make them pull the trigger.

Bleacher Report has listed Beal as the top trade target for the Mavericks this offseason. They also have CJ McCollum and Rudy Gobert on that list.

Beal would be a godsend. The Mavs need another high-level creator to keep defenses from overcrowding Doncic, and ideally, that player would also add value as an off-ball shooter and a defender.

During the 2019-20 NBA season, Beal ended up averaging 30.5 points per game to go along with 6.1 assists and 4.2 rebounds. He also chipped in 1.2 steals per game. Beal shot 45.5 percent from the field and 35.3 percent from three-point range.

Beal would form a dominant “big three” with Doncic and Porzingis. He would also fit into the offensive system that Rick Carlisle runs. Adding a scorer of his caliber could help the Mavericks become major contenders against the Los Angeles Lakers.

Dallas has nothing to lose. Making an aggressive offer for Beal would make a ton of sense if their goal is to go all-in for a championship.

If the Mavericks want to go for it now, they need to make a move. Doncic is still playing on his rookie deal, which gives Dallas some financial ability to bring in a big contract. Beal has only one year left on his deal, which would give the Mavericks an out if things don’t work out.

Rumors are going to swirl surrounding Bradley Beal this offseason. The Wizards simply aren’t in a position to compete. Trading Beal this offseason for a lot of value would be a smart move.

Expect to see the Mavericks take an aggressive approach this offseason. Doncic and Porzingis gave them a lot of reason for excitement this season and adding a third star could put them over the top.
