3. Good, Quality Player
This is what the Knicks need. It seems simple and obvious, but New York lacks professional basketball players. This is what Fred VanVleet is and he would do a lot for the Knicks.
VanVleet is a player who has improved every year. He logged his best season as a pro in 2020. VanVleet averaged 35.7 minutes per game. He finished with averaged of 17.6 points and 6.6 assists while shooting 41.3% from the field, 39% from three-point range, and 84.8% from the free throw line. The Wichita State product has quickly become an exciting player in the league.
Many might be against signing VanVleet because of the price tag. There have been rumors of the Knicks offering as much as $22 million per season. If that is why you are against it, that’s fair but that is the NBA nowadays.
We are talking about a league where Joakim Noah got four-years, $72 million from the Knicks. This is a move for a good basketball player and the Knicks need that in the worst way.
