2. Obi Toppin

If there is an intriguing fit for the Warriors at No. 2 in the 2020 NBA Draft, it is Obi Toppin. The 6’9 marvel averaged 20 points and 7.5 rebounds at Dayton while shooting 63.3% from the field and 39% from three-point range. This is not a reach for Golden State. This is the opportunity to add a future star in the league.

Toppin has all the intangibles to be a great player. At 22-years old, Toppin has more experience than most prospects in this draft. For a team like the Warriors, this should be viewed as a positive given the fact that they will expect to compete right away.

Toppin is an incredible rim runner and would fit in perfectly with a fast-paced offense like the one in Golden State. Toppin is a difficult cover given his ability to get to the rim or shoot from the outside.

Dayton was 29-2 and preparing for a long tournament run before the season was shutdown. Defensively, Toppin is not a finished product but he is NBA ready offensively. This would be a great fit for the Warriors with the second selection.
