Myles Turner Can Still Stretch The Floor
Another key to whoever the Rockets acquire, if they do make a trade to address the center position, is finding a big man who can defend and shoot.
While his percentages were not great this season, Turner can stretch the floor. He simply did not fit in Nate McMillan’s offensive system. McMillan never allowed him to play his game and Turner definitely did not have the green light to shoot the three.
In Houston, assuming Mike D’Antoni sticks around, Turner would be able to play his game. He would be able to spot up around the perimeter and take open shots off of passes from Westbrook and Harden.
Turner would flourish in the Rockets’ offensive system. Houston would be wise to strongly consider pursuing a trade with the Pacers. Indiana will likely be open to moving him and Turner would likely welcome a move to a team like the Rockets.
