Pacers Receive: Julius Randle, Dennis Smith, R.J. Barrett, 2020 First-Round Pick

Knicks Receive: Victor Oladipo, Doug McDermott

Obviously, this would be a big trade that some may not agree with. The Pacers are sending out an All-Star in this move, but some would argue that he isn’t worth this much of a haul due to the fact that he is coming off of an injury and did show some signs of struggling.

Despite the fact that no one knows if Oladipo is the same player he was pre-injury, he did enough in the “Bubble” to make this trade a reasonable one.

For the Pacers, they would be bringing in a young guard in Dennis Smith to help replace Oladipo. R.J. Barrett would be a capable starter as well and Julius Randle could slide in at power forward if the franchise moved Myles Turner. The No. 8 pick in the 2020 NBA Draft would be intriguing as well and could be used on a young player or to bring in a veteran via trade.

On the other hand, the Knicks would be bringing in a potential franchise player. Oladipo is capable of powering a team to the playoffs when healthy. Doug McDermott is a quality shooter and role player that would fit nicely in New York.

Both teams are going to have a tough time finding a trade that fits their needs perfectly. Kevin Knox could be included in a deal instead of Barrett if needed.

Pritchard and the Pacers need to be careful with Oladipo. If he does leave next offseason in free agency, they would lose him for nothing. Trading him to the Knicks would bring back some valuable pieces that could be used or traded.

The Knicks need to get aggressive in their search for a franchise star. Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving were the goal, but settling for Oladipo would be a solid Plan B.

All of that being said, this is a potential trade package that could send Oladipo to the Knicks. The Pacers are going to be a team to keep an eye on this offseason and it’s sounding more and more likely that Oladipo could be on the trade block.
