1. Philadelphia 76ers
The Philadelphia 76ers didn’t get the chance to make a playoff run at full strength this season. However, they still have a clear need to make changes beyond just replacing Brett Brown as head coach. There needs to be an emphasis to add more reliable perimeter shooters.
The only spot-up threat the 76ers have that is of a similar caliber as Buddy Hield is Furkan Korkmaz, but he comes with legitimate limitations. Hield is a more dynamic scorer and is better suited for playoff basketball since he’s not as much of a defensive liability.
There isn’t much flexibility for the 76ers to make key changes to their roster after handing out such larger contracts to Al Horford and Tobias Harris. Anything they do will need to come through the trade market, as a result.
Not only would Hield be a helpful talent to add into the mix for the 76ers, but it could also be an opportunity to attempt to move on from either Horford or Harris. It would depend on the interest level of the Kings but there are reasons why either would have at least some appeal.
