Pacers: 4 dark-horse candidates to become the next head coach for Indiana

The Indiana Pacers are heading for an offseason full of change after the decision to fire head coach Nate McMillan. Just a few weeks ago, the Pacers announced a contract extension with McMillan for one season. Obviously, they didn’t like what they saw from the team in the playoffs.

Once again, the Pacers were unable to win a single playoff game. They were swept by the Miami Heat and didn’t appear to have much of a chance.

McMillan had a ton of regular season success and got the most out of his team. There is no question that he did a good job. Unfortunately, the playoffs are what matters the most and the Pacers didn’t see enough to keep him around.

With the coaching search beginning immediately, the Pacers are going to take a look at a long list of potential coaching candidates. Among the front-runners are Mike D’Antoni, Kenny Atkinson, and possibly Brett Brown.

Let’s take a look at a few options that aren’t being hyped up as current front-runners. The Pacers should strongly consider these four names as well.
