1. Los Angeles Lakers
The Lakers have several interesting free agent cases this offseason. Los Angeles remains determined to sit atop the NBA hierarchy, but the team lacks depth. With Avery Bradley opting out of the restart, the Lakers look vulnerable, and the second unit’s shooting is forgettable.
Between trying to retain Anthony Davis and paying other starters who pick up their player options, the Lakers might not chase proven veterans like Dragic. However, while he can’t help the team’s defense, The Dragon can provide a spark off the bench for L.A.’s struggling second unit.
Outside of LeBron James at point guard, no other guard who played at least ten games for the Lakers averaged double-digit points. Dion Waiters averaged 11.9 per game, but he only played in seven games in the bubble while shooting 42.5% overall.
Dragic is a career 46.4% shooter from the floor and makes 36.3% of his three-point shots. With some of Los Angeles’ other veteran scorers (Danny Green) falling flat in the final weeks of the regular season, the Lakers need a boost off the bench. Los Angeles must show some aggression during this year’s free agency period.
