The Pros

Quite simply, the Pacers need to figure out the future of their franchise. Domantas Sabonis has showed that he is the new focal point of the offense. He was an All-Star this season and playing alongside Myles Turner has brought some difficult.

With both big men on the court, the paint can get crowded. Thankfully, Turner has turned into more of a stretch four than anything else. Spacing isn’t a huge issue, but having a more lethal and versatile power forward would make a lot of sense.

Turner is also the kind of player that quite a few teams around the NBA would pay a pretty penny for. Among the names the Pacers could target for Turner are Gordon Hayward, Aaron Gordon, and Blake Griffin. Indiana would get a nice return for dealing Turner and could get a first-round pick as well.

Moving Turner now could also open up some cap space depending on the kind of deal they target. With Victor Oladipo needing a new contract soon and T.J. Warren playing for a new deal in the near future, the Pacers could use some money freed up.

Adding some young pieces via draft picks would make a lot of sense along with freeing up salary. Turner is a very valuable piece, but moving him comes with financial flexibility. That is by far the biggest pro on this list.
