Can They Knock Down The Perimeter Shot?
The Memphis Grizzlies are young and will fall victim to the ill-advised shots that haunt up and coming teams. However, with the time off, hopefully, they have found ways to remedy that problem.
During the 2019 season, before the hiatus, the Grizzlies ranked 25th in three-point attempts (31.0), 25th in makes (10.9), and 21st in percentage (.321). In order for them to hold tight to the 8th spot in the Western Conference, they will need to improve tremendously.
If the Grizzles can hold on, it will take a team effort and a superb coaching job from Taylor Jenkins. He must find a way to keep his players from hoisting those shots no matter the situation.
With Ja Morant able to break down a defense off the dribble, players like Dillon Brooks, Jae Crowder, and Jaren Jackson were left open on the perimeter. However, that doesn’t mean that they must take the shot. The perimeter players will have other options such as slashing to the rim or finding the best three-point shooter by using better ball movement.
