This Pacers-Lakers trade for Victor Oladipo could make perfect sense

The Indiana Pacers are entering a very uncertain future when it comes to Victor Oladipo. At this point in time, rumors have been swirling that Oladipo may not stick around much longer and that the Miami Heat could end up getting him. However, the Los Angeles Lakers might be a potential landing spot as well.

Oladipo returned this season from a brutal ruptured quad that ended his 2018-19 season prematurely. He came back in January and played in 13 games before the NBA season was put on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In those 13 games, Oladipo averaged 13.8 points per game to go along with 3.2 rebounds and 3.0 assists. He started to look closer to his former self just before the season was suspended. If he continues to improve and heal, the Lakers would be a team to watch for an offseason trade.

Obviously, the Pacers aren’t going to want to move Oladipo if they don’t have to. They are going to try to lock their star shooting guard up with an extension. But, if they are unable to do so, Kevin Pritchard may be forced to consider a trade.

Let’s take a look at one potential trade that would send Oladipo from the Pacers to the Lakers.
