Is Al Horford Ready?
As important as Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons are to the success of the Philadelphia 76ers, Al Horford is as equally important. Horford was brought to the team to provide them with valuable inside scoring, defense, and rebounding. So far this season, according to many, Horford has been a bust.
On the season, Horford has averaged 12.0 points and 6.9 rebounds while playing 30.8 minutes per game. However, Brett Brown, with the 76ers struggling made a controversial decision to bring Horford off the bench in hopes it would spark the team.
If the 76ers are to leave Orlando with a championship, much of the burden will fall on the shoulders of Horford. He has to lead the second unit and be ready to take on a larger role when he replaces Embiid in the rotation with the starters. Horford has the ability to be productive on both ends of the floor but one has to wonder if his confidence is not shaken just a bit.
