Denver Nuggets
If it’s working, stick with it. The Nuggets won’t pony up like they did for Millsap the first time around, to the tune of $30 million a year. But a one or two-year pact for $10-$15 million a year isn’t unreasonable.
According to the aforementioned defensive versatility numbers, Millsap has spent nearly a quarter of his possessions guarding shooting guards and small forwards this year. And Denver’s defense is 8.5 points per 100 possessions worse when he sits.
There is worth wondering if the Nuggets have to break up their core to reach another level and be a legit title contender. But Millsap is a nice fit as a key piece of the equation regardless, and he’s lined up to continue being a difference maker.
