Exciting Young Core

Along with Morant, Memphis has a very exciting young core consisting of Jaren Jackson Jr, Dillon Brooks, and Brandon Clarke. Jackson Jr. and Brooks were just behind Morant in terms of scoring, dropping 16.9 and 15.7 points, respectively.

Clarke was also impressive, averaging 12 points per night. With these four young players really coming into their own, it would be very exciting to watch them play on the big stage. They’re all poised to make the Grizzlies a playoff team for many years to come.

The duo of Morant and Jackson Jr. alone was electric this year, taking the place of Conley and Gasol, who perfected their craft together for many years in Memphis. Morant is quick and athletic, while Jackson Jr. is a physical presence in the paint who is able to match up with the top bigs in the league.

Their different skill sets pair together very well and they proved this season that they’re always in sync with each other. Whether it was Morant linking up with Jackson Jr. for an alley-oop or the Grizzlies big man setting a screen so Morant can find an open lane to the rim, they were a breath of fresh air to watch.

Brooks is starting to really find his touch at the NBA level, while Clarke has a ton of potential after just one season in the league. This young core is ready to compete at the highest level.
