Gary Harris
It has been a disappointing season for Gary Harris from an offensive perspective when looking beyond the regular imprint he leaves on defense guarding high-level players. He will surely need to provide the Denver Nuggets with a greater impact once the NBA season returns.
The role Harris has played in the Nuggets’ offense has become primarily one that is predicated around spot-up shooting and spacing the floor. He simply hasn’t shot well enough from beyond the arc by going 33.3% on 210 total attempts. Improving in this area is an absolute must for an off-ball guard.
Something to also take into consideration is that Harris has struggled when tasked with shooting off the move and when creating shots off the dribble. For reference, his efficiency in handoffs (44th percentile), pick-and-roll ball-handling (31st percentile), and off-screen (37th percentile) has been rated merely average or worse by Synergy Sports.
The bulk of the playmaking within the Nuggets’ comes from the other key players when Harris is playing with the starters. Denver could reach another level offensively if he can once again become a more knockdown catch-and-shoot threat and execute better when creating within the flow.
