The Miami Heat have been one of the top contenders in the Eastern Conference so far this season. Even though the 2019-20 NBA season is still in doubt due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there is still plenty to talk about when it comes to the league.

If the season were to end today, the Heat would be the No. 4 seed in the East. They hold a 41-24 record and have shown great ability on both sides of the court. Led by Jimmy Butler, who signed with the team in free agency prior to the season, the Heat have a very bright future ahead of them.

Not only do they have a bright future, they are actively searching for ways to become an NBA Finals favorite.

Per the website Heat Nation, the Heat are reportedly interested in making a big trade to acquire more star power. Detroit Pistons star forward Blake Griffin is one name that was mentioned. The fit would be absolutely perfect for both parties.

Griffin was only able to play in 18 games this season prior to the league suspension of play. He averaged 15.5 points per game to go along with 4.7 rebounds and 3.3 assists. Obviously, injuries have hampered him in a big way this year.

All of that being said, let’s take a look at three reasons why the Heat should look to trade for Griffin this coming offseason.
