3. Added Relevance
First off, if New York manages to acquire Chris Paul the franchise will become relevant again.
Paul is a true point guard who is battle-tested, resilient, and efficient on and off the court. After being traded from the Houston Rockets, the 35-year-old, guard, was reluctant to stay with the Thunder.
Months later Paul’s leadership and selflessness have helped the Thunder capture a 40-24 record. If the season ended today OKC would capture a playoff berth as the fifth seed.
By trading for Paul, the Knicks fanbase will be re-charged and interested in attending games. The Wake Forest product can still put on a show at the age of 35.
Paul’s style of play, leadership, and IQ will help the franchise recruit other mid-tier talent players. He can mentor younger players and help change the image of the franchise.
