The New York Knicks and the rest of the NBA have been out of action since March 12. The 2019-20 season was suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Currently, New York sits in 12th place in the Eastern Conference with a 21-45 record. With multiple reports circulating that the NBA season could possibly return, the NYK’s are probably looking forward to the offseason.

Before this season kicked off the franchise emphasized the importance of signing a big-name free agent in the offseason. However, the Knicks struck out during the summer and reverted to signing a lot of role players to short term deals.

With the end of New York’s regular-season approaching the franchise needs to consider their next steps.

One player that can help this franchise turn around in a hurry is Oklahoma City Thunder guard Chris Paul. Obviously, the Thunder will be reluctant to trade their starting guard because of their overall success.

Here are three reasons why the Knickerbockers need to make acquiring Paul a priority.
