2.Mark Jackson
Jackson is one the usual suspects on almost any list of candidates for a head coaching job, to the point of exhaustion. The Knicks are a consistent tie for him, since he played for the franchise, but he was born in Brooklyn and may have serious interest in the Nets.
Steve Kerr took the Golden State Warriors to another level, but Jackson’s work there should not be forgotten. The Warriors went from 23 to 51 wins over his three season as head coach, as he led a solid defensive team that got better offensively over his tenure.
Jackson has been endorsed by Durant’s business manager Rich Klieman for the Knicks’ job opening, and it’s easy to see a similar approach regarding the Nets now.
Jackson pretty clearly wants to coach again. Will Brooklyn be the job that gets him to leave a prominent gig at ESPN/ABC?
