The Memphis Grizzlies have been one of the main teams in the NBA that have exceeded its original expectations. One of the key reasons for that has been the play of Dillon Brooks.
A fair amount of the Grizzlies’ success has been predicated on Brooks’ ability to score at a high volume. In fact, Memphis has posted a 13-0 record this season in games that Brooks scores at least 20 points.
The production that Brooks has provided the Grizzlies lately has been crucial in their NBA-best seven-game winning streak. He has averaged 21.1 points with tremendous efficiency during this period.
With Brooks being in the final season of his rookie contract, he is playing his way into a nice payday in free agency this summer. It’s only going to intensify if he continues to ramp up his production.
Brooks is averaging 15.4 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 2.0 assists through 42 performances this season. He has bounced back in a major way from a 2018-19 season that ended after 18 games due to a toe injury.
If the Grizzlies can continue to receive strong play from Brooks then there will be a lot to like about their odds of making the playoffs this season. Regardless, the future of their team is bright.
