Phoenix Suns Point Guard Carousel

Needless to say, Booker and Ayton will be a force to be reckoned with but the Suns have to address the point guard position. Looking back, the franchise has had the most success when their roster contained a solid point guard.

Over the years the team has had household names at the point guard position such as Johnny High, Paul Westphal, Kevin Johnson, Jason Kidd, Jeff Hornacek, Danny Ainge and of course, Steve Nash, (to name a few). No disrespect to Booker and Ayton but in order for this franchise to rise from the ashes, they need more than a dynamic duo.

Historically, Phoenix has always been a run-and-gun team. The roster currently consists of Okobo (who’s in the G League), Booker, T.J. Warren, Ryan Anderson and Ayton. As of now, the team’s reserves include De’Anthony Melton, Troy Daniels, Trevor Ariza, Josh Jackson, Jamal Crawford, Isaiah Canaan, Mikal Bridges, Dragan Bender and King (who is on a two-way contract).

Phoenix’s current roster has some pieces for the future, but they need to add a point guard to bring things together. Every team needs a point guard in order to have success in the NBA and there are three that the Phoenix Suns need to consider trading for.
