#2: Phoenix Suns
The Suns are a young team, but they want to try to start competing with Devin Booker now locked up long-term and voicing his frustrations with losing. They are in desperate need of a point guard and will most likely use their assets to acquire one if somebody becomes available, but getting a star big man could be another option.
Kevin Love would be a good fit in the frontcourt with Deandre Ayton, although the pair could struggle defensively. He could step in and basically be a better version of Ryan Anderson, who they are currently starting at the four. Anderson would need to be included in the deal to match salaries, but I don’t think the Suns would care if they could get an upgrade over him.
The Suns would likely not surrender any of their top-flight young players in a potential deal for Love because they want to keep them for the possibility of trading for a point guard. A deal like Ryan Anderson, Dragan Bender, and Mikal Bridges plus a future first-rounder could be a starting point for the Cavaliers.
The Cavaliers would be getting a solid young wing in Bridges, plus a project in Bender who people still think has some untapped potential and a future first-round pick. They would have to take on the contract of Anderson, but he will only be on the books for one more season after this one, so it is at least manageable.
