X-Factor #3: Do They Have The Right Chemistry?
Say what you want about the achievements of LeBron James over his career. While he has done some amazing things, he’s never been the most coachable player. Head man Luke Walton will have his hands full as he tries to guide the Lakers back to respectability.
For starters, there is no love lost between LeBron and Rondo. The same goes for LeBron and Lance. Pairing these three together could be good or it could easily backfire in the Lakers’ faces. Then you add the unknown with McGee and his crazy antics and this could be a season to remember, but not in a good way.
Then you have Kuzma, Ingram, and Ball. All have been mentioned as the cornerstones, but the addition of James and Stephenson will change the course of the Lakers’ rebuild. It could take some time for the young pieces on the Los Angeles Lakers to learn how to win, and handle all that comes with being on the same team as James.
While each of the young guns will add value to the season, they have become second, third, and fourth options. Winning takes more than putting the ball in the basket. It takes a team effort on both ends of the floor. Did the Lakers just put a team together or add players and hope that was enough?
