Oklahoma City Thunder: 4 Bold Predictions for the 2018-19 NBA Season

Russell Westbrook and Paul George are heading into the 2018-19 NBA season hoping to lead the Oklahoma City Thunder back to serious contention in the Western Conference. After a disappointing season a year ago, the Thunder are not only out to compete this season, but to prove that last year was a fluke.

Gone is veteran forward Carmelo Anthony, who was acquired to form a “big three” with Westbrook and George. He struggled mightily last season and ended up getting traded to the Atlanta Hawks this offseason. Atlanta then bought his contract out and Anthony signed with the Houston Rockets.

To say that the Thunder have their work cut out for them this year is an understatement. Obviously, the Golden State Warriors are once again the favorite to win the West. Houston is going to be an extremely good team, while LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers have made the conference even stronger.

Oklahoma City has the star power to compete, but depth will be a big question throughout the year. Fans have every reason to be excited, however, and their team has the talent to compete with the elite teams out west.

All of that being said, what four bold predictions can be made for the Thunder heading into the 2018-19 NBA season?
