New York Knicks: 3 Goals for the Upcoming 2018-19 Season

New York

1. Win 35 Games This Year

Unlike the 2017-18 season, the NYK don’t have to worry about LeBron James and DeMar DeRozan in the Eastern Conference. Both James and DeRozan played for two of the top four teams in the east which dictated the bottom half of the conference.

At the end of last season, the Knicks finished with a .354 win percentage in the east. The team finished with a (29-53) record due to the injury of their franchise player. Winning six more games isn’t much to ask for considering the team won 29 last year.

One way the Knickerbockers can win 35 games or more is by winning on the road. The Knicks finished last season with a 10-31 road record. In today’s NBA it is important for teams to be able to win on the road. Last seasons team shot 33.3 percent from three and averaged 14.8 turnovers per game on the road.

Taking care of the ball needs to be a priority for this team entering the new season. On the other hand, the team did a good job of rebounding the ball. The Knicks finished 13th in the league with rebounds per game. If New York can average 44 rebounds like last year they will be able to control the tempo of the game.
