Joel Embiid Will Be in the MVP Conversation
One thing that Joel Embiid has talked about wanting to accomplish this offseason is to be the NBA MVP. That is something that he will put his name into consideration for this year.
In a recent interview shared by NBA.com, Embiid talked about his desire to win the MVP award.
“I don’t think it matters, big free agent or not. My goal going into the offseason was to get better. I want to win the MVP. I feel like at the end of the day it might be an individual award, but when I play better, the team also does. I feel like if I’m an MVP candidate or if I win the MVP, that means we are on another level.”
Embiid is absolutely right. If he is able to take the next step, the team as a whole will take the next step as well. Philadelphia is built around Embiid’s skill-set and that will show even more this seaon if he takes his game to a higher level.
Hearing this kind of hungry attitude should excite 76ers’ fans. Embiid is working hard this offseason to prove that he is one of the best players in the NBA. That is a goal that he will accomplish and he will receive some votes in the MVP race.
