Can The Nets Trust Jarrett Allen?
According to Real GM, the Nets will go with Jarrett Allen as their starting Center. For a moment, the team had made one of the best trades when they received Dwight Howard from the Charlotte Hornets. But only after a few days with the team, Howard requested a buyout.
Now it seems that Allen is the guy in the paint and the Nets will need him to produce. Just a rookie in 2017, Allen averaged 10.5 points and 6.4 rebounds while shooting 62.1 percent in 31 starts. If he can keep that production going over 82 games, the Nets will be in a great position. But can he be trusted is the question?
A lot depends on who’s starting at the PG position. With Dinwiddie, Allen may see the ball more in the post. As a starter, he attempted 6.6 shots per. If Russell is leading the charge, Allen’s attempts will be limited.
What also may work against the young player is that he’s in a division where he has to face Enes Kanter, Joel Embiid, and Al Horford. All three players bring a different element to the paint and Allen’s lack of experience may hinder the team. The Nets also can use Ed Davis in case Allen is not the right choice.
