Goal 1: Win the NBA’s Sixth Man of the Year Award
Rose has been a starter his whole career, that is until last year.
Coming off the bench was an adjustment for Rose, but when it counted most, Rose blossomed.
Winning Sixth Man of the Year would be shocking to most, it would not shock me, and it should be a goal of Rose.
Rose is instant scoring off the bench. While Rose may not be who he was when he won MVP at the youngest age of any past winner, he still can break down anyone one-on-one and can puncture the heart of a defense.
With the Wolves reportedly shopping Jones, and Rose arguably outplaying him and Jeff Teague in the postseason, Rose will get the minutes to do so. He’s capable of scoring in bunches and being an instant spark plug for the team in the second unit.
If Rose achieves the first two goals listed in this piece, this third goal should be achievable. Not to mention, Rose would be doing a lot of his damage against opposing second units; which, he’s capable of feasting on, whether it’s the fast break or in a half court setting.
Sixth Man of the Year shouldn’t be far off for Rose, and winning it would be the cherry on the top.
If Rose achieves these goals, he’ll get himself a multi-year deal.
