The Indiana Pacers remain a consistent, if slightly underwhelming, force in the Eastern Conference. During the 2017-18 season, Victor Oladipo emerged as Indiana’s franchise player. He also earned All-Defensive honors and averaged 23.1 points per game.

At the time, the Pacers looked like an up-and-coming franchise capable of building a title contender. Unfortunately, Indiana’s championship team never materialized, and they could move on from Oladipo before the start of next season.

Between Indiana’s current positioning in the East, Oladipo’s salary, and the star’s current health concerns, the Pacers can’t continue pushing off this reckoning. If Indiana wants to continue growing as a franchise, the team must look toward the future, which might not include Oladipo.

With that, let’s take a look at why the Pacers should consider trading Victor Oladipo in the NBA offseason.
