The Los Angeles Lakers made a major splash with the acquisition of Anthony Davis from the New Orleans Pelicans. It was a deal that shocked the league and took a lot of talent to get done. Los Angeles ended up trading Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, Josh Hart, and a plethora of first-round picks to get him.
Now, Davis and LeBron James are set to team up in the pursuit of bringing another title to L.A. In order to do so, the Lakers will need to put more talent around them.
Scottie Pippen is familiar with winning championships and he seems to think that the Lakers are on the right track.
Rachel Nichols shared the quote from Pippen on Twitter, where the NBA legend stated that the Lakers have a “great opportunity” to win a championship with Davis and James.
Needless to say, it will be fun to watch the Lakers this season. Davis is one of the best two-way players in the game and could very well be the best teammate that James has ever had.
Expect to see these two do damage in the 2019-20 NBA season, although the team will need to add more talent around them. Davis certainly does give the Lakers a chance to get back into contention after a disappointing season last year.
